A few things parents ask
How is Postmello different from texting?
No chat bubbles. Each letter is written, drawn or typed, addressed to approved friends or family, and sent as a whole. No typing dots, read receipts or online status, and there’s time between replies.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
Yes. Postmello is the whole desk on both, on iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 and later. An iPad gives the desk more room, and Apple Pencil works too. You can also turn on the typewriter for any desk.
Does my child need a phone of their own?
No. Several desks can share one iPhone or iPad, so a desk can live on a shared iPad or on your own phone. Each desk has its own mailbox, stationery and friends.
Who is Postmello for? Can adults have a desk?
There’s no fixed age. Some people mostly draw; others write or type. Adults can have their own desks and exchange letters too. Postmello is for people who enjoy making and receiving letters.
Is Postmello free?
Yes. Up to six desks, unlimited friends and letters, replies, and every letter you keep are all free. Collections are optional, from $0.99, and yours to keep.
Are collections permanent?
Yes. A collection you buy is yours for good, on every desk. A desk can show up to 8 collections at a time, and you can change which ones are on its shelf.
Is this physical mail?
Letters are delivered digitally. Make a page, put it in an envelope, and send it through Postmello. Nothing is printed or sent through the postal service.
Can someone write by email instead?
Yes. Once an email address is approved for a desk, letters travel both ways from a regular inbox, with no app needed. Words arrive as a typewritten letter; links, photos, and attachments do not reach the desk.
Can someone we don’t know write to my child?
Letters can only travel between friends approved by a grown-up. There is no public search or discovery. You can remove or block a friend behind the parental PIN.
Are letters and artwork kept private?
There are no ads and no selling personal data. Letters travel only between approved friends. Postmello is supported by optional collections.
